OK... so this is a topic that I have purposefully avoided on this blog. My husband works in politics (on the private/non-partisan side right now) and I admire him for doing so... it's not an easy career choice. And while I have a lot of opinions that I won't share on this blog out of respect and protection for what he is doing, I do feel compelled to say one thing. After spending time in DC and getting a bit of an insiders point of view, my advice when taking everything in over the next two months (on either side of things) is this:
Not everything is as it seems. Be smart: really do your research and understand what is the reality behind the promises of the candidates. My generation has been pretty apathetic towards politics and it's exciting to see people starting to care again with this election. I just hope we are smart enough to really examine all the issues and make decisions for ourselves.
So that is all I will write on this topic. I could rant and go on about things if given the opportunity, but at the heart of it I really feel that personal responsibility is crucial in this election.
