A morning of firsts

So last night it snowed!!! All of you non-Austinites are probably wondering what's the big deal. Well, for starters it was in the 70's for the majority of the day yesterday. But by about 9 or 10 last night it was snowing. Yeah, quite the shift in weather. And yesterday I was getting my hair done and I told my hair dresser that I was wishing for snow and was probably one of the only people in Austin wishing that. He laughed at me and said that in his 8 years of living in Austin he had only seen it snow ONCE! The most we usually get is one or two ice storms a year and those happen in January or February. So snow in December is a BIG deal.

And here's evidence of how novel it is... Spencer walked out to his car this morning to find that someone had written a message in the snow on my car:

So yeah, snow in Austin is definitely a "first."

One of the other firsts? I actually turned on the heat this morning. I literally haven't done that since we've been in this apartment... we moved in last May. But before you get all jealous that our electric bill must be amazingly low, think of the good 5-6 months where we have to blast the AC. It all evens out in the end.

And finally, Gucci ran from me this morning when I tried to take him to the bathroom. He hasn't done that since he got here. And apparently I'm becoming one of those people that talks about their dog as if it's their child. Yikes.
